Preparing for My First Deployment

January 13, 2024

Deployment Prep

I've been preparing for deployment, and I'm getting nervous. This is a big moment - my first real project going live. I want everything to be perfect.

Final Checklist

I've been going through a checklist:

  • āœ… Code is clean and commented
  • āœ… All features are tested
  • āœ… Build process works locally
  • āœ… Environment variables are configured
  • āœ… README is updated

I think I'm ready.

Choosing a Platform

I decided to go with Vercel for deployment. It seems straightforward for React apps, and the free tier is perfect for my needs. I've been reading their documentation and watching tutorials.

What Could Go Wrong

I'm worried about:

  • Build errors I haven't encountered
  • Environment variable issues
  • Performance problems
  • Bugs I haven't found

But I know I need to just try it. I can't learn without doing.

Timeline

I'm planning to deploy this week. I've been putting it off, but it's time. PhantomCloudX is ready, and I'm ready to share it with the world (or at least make it accessible online).

Excitement

Despite the nerves, I'm excited. This has been a year-long project, and seeing it live will be a huge milestone. It's proof that I can build something real.
